The Oculus Pentacam is a rotating Scheimpflug Camera which measures Scheimpflug images of the anterior eye segment. The Oculus Pentacam Scheimpflug technique provides sharp and crisp images that include information from the anterior corneal surface to the posterior crystalline capsule. The key advantages of the rotating imaging process are the precise measurement of the central cornea, the correction of eye movements, the easy fixation for the patients and the extremely short examination time. The Oculus Pentacam is the industry standard for Scheimpflug Camera technology.
The Oculus Pentacam calculates a three dimensional mathematical model of the anterior segment to provide the following information:
• anterior and posterior corneal topography and elevation maps
• corneal pachymetry from limbus to limbus
• 3D-chamber analyzing (ACD-map, chamber angle, chamber volume etc.)
• lens density (quantification of the light transmittance of the crystalline lens and IOL’s)
• tomography
• improved IOL-calculation for post LASIK, PRK and RK patients
While summing up all the features, the Oculus Pentacam is the optimum analyzer for:
• corneal refractive surgeons
• cataract refractive surgeons
• glaucoma screening
• general screening
