Schwind Carriazo Pendular

The SCHWIND Carriazo-Pendular microkeratome stands for precision, safety and predictable results. The cutting head and blade SCHWIND Carriazo-Pendular Microkeratome are designed in a convex form similar to the cornea itself. Due to the unique pendulum motion of the SCHWIND Carriazo-Pendular Microkeratome, the cornea becomes more applanated in the center than in the periphery. Combined with the optimal settings for cutting speed and blade oscillation, the SCHWIND Carriazo-Pendular Microkeratome technology provides a homogeneous and highly predictable flap thickness with an extremely low standard deviation, between 10 μm and 12 μm (depending on which cutting head is used), and smooth cutting edges. A vacuum chamber located in the suction ring minimizes stress on the eye and increases cutting safety, says Schwind. The hinge position can be freely selected (360°) and individual components are interchangeable for optimal OR procedures. Detailed monitoring assures standardized and controlled treatment.

Features:

• The unique pendular technology provides a homogeneous and exactly predictable flap thickness, as well as very smooth cutting edges.
• The standard deviation is extremely low (10 – 12 µm, depending on the size cutting head used)
• The hinge position can be freely selected (360 degrees).
• The complete interchange ability of the components optimizes the operation procedure and reduces consequential costs.
• A microprocessor in the console continuously monitors the activity of the Carriazo-Pendular.
• With a comprehensive monitoring, suction and cutting phases are illustrated in an uniquely detailed way
• The cutting heads are offered in the standard versions of 90, 110, 130, 150 and 170 µm, and are also available in all other desired cut thicknesses.
• The interactive, five-language console display does not only show errors, but also indicates the respective solution.
• An innovative blade box provides increased safety during performance of the treatment.
